Bill’s wife Ann, his children Jim, Sarah, Catherine & Larry, their families and the family of his late son Billy would like to extend their most sincere thanks for the many expressions of sympathy & support shown to them throughout their recent sad loss.
Thank you to everyone who visited the funeral home and to all those who attended Bill’s removal, funeral Mass and burial, especially those who travelled long distances. We very much appreciate all those who sent Mass cards and floral tributes, those who phoned, wrote or shared happy memories online, those who couldn’t be present but joined in the celebration of Bill’s life via webcam and those who donated generously to Arklow Cancer Support Group in Bill’s memory:
We are most grateful to Dr. Nick Buggle, Dr Siobhan McCabe and all of Bill’s colleagues and friends at Sheltonville Surgery for so many years of friendship and great care. Thank you also to the kind and caring staff of St. Vincent’s Hospital for the comfort and dignity you brought to Bill’s final weeks.
Special thanks to Fr. Pádraig Ó’Cochláin and Fr Pádraig Brehony OFM for their prayers and for concelebrating such a beautiful funeral Mass, to Karla Tracey for her wonderful singing and to Bridget Kenny for such lovely accompaniment. We sincerely acknowledge all family and friends who took part in the funeral liturgy and a special thank you to Teddy and Billie Pip for their fabulous performance – Bill would have been so proud.
To our colleagues, neighbours and friends, your continued support and kindness is much appreciated and will never be forgotten. To Bill’s many friends, colleagues and former patients, we value the love and respect you have shown and also to his dear comrades in Fianna Fail, we thank you for your years of friendship and respectful Guard of Honour.
We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to the management and staff of the Woodenbridge Hotel for their hospitality, to Jason and Tom for tending to the grave & to all at John Sweeney and Sons Funeral Directors.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our sincere appreciation.
Bill’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Saturday 14th June at 6.30pm in St.’s Mary & Peter’s Church. Those who cannot attend are welcome to join via webcam:
