We, the family of the late Eamon McGeough would like to express our deepest gratitude for the kindness, sympathy and support we received during our recent sad bereavement.
We offer our heartfelt appreciation to our relatives, neighbours, friends and well-wishers who attended Eamon’s wake, funeral Mass and burial. For those of you who travelled long distances to be there with us, who sent Mass and Sympathy Cards, posted condolences online, wrote letters, telephoned or sent texts, as well as those who made charitable donations to Carrickmacross Cancer Society, we are truly thankful.
We gratefully acknowledge all of you who could not attend Eamon's funeral and who instead joined us remotely via the church live stream service.
We wish to express our sincere thanks to Dr. McMahon who cared for Eamon at the beginning of his illness and Dr. Doran who strived to make things easier for him in the latter years, to Shane and all the staff of Connolly’s pharmacy who always went above and beyond in their care of Eamon over the years, to the team in the Beaumont Hospital who were all so attentive to Eamon over the course of his treatment and the caring staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, who were so kind to him and to all our family during his illness and especially in his final days.
Special thanks to Canon Michael Daly for the beautiful Mass and funeral service and especially for his wonderful eulogy in which he captured so well the special and important features of Eamon's personality and life, to Liebe Kelly for the beautiful singing and music during the service, to Pat Boylan for preparing the church for his funeral and to Padraig and Catriona of Lonergan Funeral Directors for their exceptionally professional and compassionate handling of all the arrangements.
A big thank you to the teachers and children of St. Michael’s N.S. Donaghmoyne who thoughtfully lined the road to bid Eamon a final farewell. He would have been very proud of you all.
To our wonderful neighbours and friends who are always there and have shown up for us this year without prompt, providing emotional and practical support at this difficult time, we can never thank you enough.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our sincere and genuine appreciation, gratitude and thanks.
Eamon's Months Mind Mass will be celebrated on Sunday, 29th October, at 10am in St. Lastra's Church, Donaghmoyne.
Those we love don’t go away
They walk beside us every day
Unseen, unheard, but always near
Still loved, still missed and very dear
