Eddie’s loving wife Kathleen, sons Brian and Robert, his daughter Alison and the extended family, wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone for all the kindness shown to us, both during Eddie’s illness and after Eddie’s sad passing.
Our sincere thanks to all those who sympathised with us personally and to those who sent Mass cards, flowers and left such kind memories and messages of support for us online.
Thanks to all those who donated in Eddie’s name to the Donal Hollywood Ward, St. James’s Hospital. All of the staff there worked so tirelessly to keep Eddie comfortable and with us for as long as possible. Such kindness and professionalism we can never repay, but it will never be forgotten.
We offer our heartfelt thanks to Dr Sinead Cuffe and her amazing team at the Oncology, St James’s Hospital for their constant dedication and care of both Eddie and our family throughout Eddie’s journey with them.
Thanks also to all those who travelled to be with us over the course of the Funeral.
Our thanks to Fr Tom Clowe, Fr Declan Blake, Fr Joe Kennedy, Fr Bernard Murphy and to Rita and Fr. Martin (Francis Street Church) for all the kindness that each has shown to us and for being there through the different stages of Eddie’s Funeral.
A very special thanks to our own dedicated team who work with us on a daily basis in the Family’s Funeral Home. To each and every one of you thanks so much for taking away from us the pressures of daily work so we as a family got the time we needed to spend with Eddie during his illness and passing.
To Dr. Michael O’Tighearnaigh, all in the Meath Community Unit and to all in Lloyds pharmacy, we offer our heartfelt thanks.
Words are not enough to thank both our fantastic neighbours and the staff in the Iveagh Trust, Kevin Street. We as a family will be forever grateful to the community there for the huge show of support to us all as a family and for the beautiful send-off provided to our Dad.
To Marie Byrne and family and to Vivienne Gilligan and family, the kindness and friendship shown to us means so much.
Thanks also to the Murray family and their staff in the Camden and Jimmy Rabbits, Camden Street and to their customers especially his buddy Neil.
To the staff at Mount Jerome for their professionalism and to Breda and staff in Flemings Florist.
Thanks to the staff at Daricia Ltd and their customers for all the kind support provided to us.
The biggest thanks of all goes to Eddie’s four beautiful grandchildren Charlie, Harry, Carson and Phoebe who made their Nanda Eddie the proudest grandfather possible!
As there are too many people to thank individually, we hope that this acknowledgment will be taken as a sign of our sincere gratitude to all.
A Mass for Eddie will take place on Saturday, 1st October 2022, at 6pm in the Church of St Nicholas of Myra, Francis Street.
May his gentle kind soul rest in peace.
“Out early, home early.”
