We, wife Eileen, sister Josephine and family of the late Edward (Eddie) O’Neill would like to acknowledge and sincerely thank all those who sympathised with us on our recent sad loss. 

We offer our heartfelt thanks to our relatives, friends and neighbours for their comfort, guidance and support throughout the funeral and in recent weeks.

Thanks to all those from near and far who called to the family home and attended the funeral Mass. Thanks to all those who sent mass cards, sympathy cards, posted online condolences, sent letters of sympathy and made comforting phone calls. Sincere thanks to close family and neighbours who brought refreshments to the home and supported us during Edward’s wake. 

Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda and the Oncology and Palliative Care ward in St. Vincent’s Private Hospital, who cared for Edward in his final days.

Sincere thanks to Mgr Shane Mc Caughey who celebrated the funeral Mass, to sacristans Breda and Martin and the eucharistic ministers. A special word of thanks to Barry Hughes and Liebe Kelly for their beautiful music. Thank you to the members of Nuremore Golf Club and pupils of St. Joseph’s Primary School for their guard of honour. 

Our heartfelt appreciation to Catriona and Padraig of Lonergan’s Funeral Directors for their professionalism throughout the funeral preparations. A special word of thanks for the respectful manner in which Edward’s final resting place was prepared. 

From all of Edward’s family let us most sincerely thank you for your support, stories, and heartfelt memories of him. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions. 

Edward’s Month's Mind Mass will be celebrated on Friday, 24th February 2023, at 7:30pm in St. Joseph’s Church, Carrickmacross.
