ROOKARD

First Anniversary and Acknowledgement

Edward (Ted) Rookard

Ballymurphy, Co.Carlow

With love we remember Ted whose first anniversary occurs 21st December.

Ted’s wife Mary, son Alan, daughter Mary, and their families would like to acknowledge and express our heartfelt thanks to those who sympathised with us on our sad loss, provided support and kind assistance at such a very difficult time.

Thank you to everyone who visited our home, attended Ted’s removal, funeral Mass and burial, sent Mass cards, left messages of sympathy and floral tributes, to those who shared happy memories and to all those who travelled long distances to be with us.

Our sincere thanks to all the dedicated carers who looked after Ted in his home throughout his illness, we will be forever grateful. A special thanks to Ann Doran for the unconditional care she gave to Ted in his final year. Thank you to Dr Byrne and the community nurses for their care to Ted. Thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at St Luke’s Hospital, especially to the Palliative Care team who made Ted’s final days as peaceful as possible.

Thank you to Fr. Shem and Fr. Rory for the beautiful Mass and the support you gave us throughout. Thank you to the gravediggers and Hugh Byrne Funeral Directors for the care and professionalism shown to us at such a difficult time. We will be forever grateful.

Thank you to Niamh and Richard of O’Driscoll’s Bar, and Rose for the catering after the funeral.

We sincerely thank each and every one of you who helped and supported our family in any way. The kindness and comfort shown to us at such a difficult time will always be remembered. As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude.

First Anniversary Mass will be celebrated on Sunday 8th January at 11am at The Sacred Heart Church, Borris, Co Carlow.

Ted is sadly missed and forever cherished by his loving wife Mary, Son Alan, Daughter Mary, Granddaughters Sinéad, Hannah and Lucy, Daughter in Law Mary, and Son in Law Grant.

“May the winds of Heaven blow softly

And whisper in your ear

How much we love and miss you

And wish that you were here”
