 Emma Hales
(née Joyce)

Fair Hill, Cork City, Cork

The family of the late Emma Hales of Cambridge (formerly Ballincollig/Fairhill), wishes to acknowledge the many expressions of sympathy and gestures of kindness shown to us following our sad loss.

We offer our heartfelt thanks to the many relatives, friends, neighbours and well-wishers who visited our home, attended the burial service and who provided emotional and practical support for us at this difficult time. For those who telephoned, travelled long distances, sent floral tributes, cards, messages of condolences as well as those who made charitable donations, we are truly grateful.

A special word of thanks to the management, doctors, nurses and staff of Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge, for their compassion and respect at all times. To the Rev Eleanor Whalley Soham and Soham Lodge Nursing Home for all your support and acts of kindness. To Anita Chodron and Palpung Ireland for all your prayers and candles at home and in India. To all the staff at Coláiste Éamann Rís and board of management who were all a pillar of strength and support to our family. For all those who participated in the mass especially Fr Aidan Vaughan, readers, musicians and finally to Coughlan’s Funeral Home for their sensitive and professional handling of arrangements .

To those who helped in any way, your contribution has made our loss more bearable. As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude. The holy sacrifice of the mass will be offered for your intentions.

The First Anniversary Mass of Emma Hales will be on the 5th of July 2022 at 10am at the Church of the Ascension, Gurranabraher, Cork. This mass will be livestreamed.

My dearest Emma you are my strength, my life guide and everything precious to me. A year doesn’t seem such a long time but without you here it felt like an eternity. Not a day goes by we don’t long to have you back. Even an eternity won’t see your memory fade. Those special memories we made help you to live on even though your gone.

I can’t touch you anymore, I can’t hear you, can’t see you but I can feel you all the time because you are alive in my heart. Your death has reminded me that in this world nothing is permanent, it’s only a process of continuous change. I will see your spirit in a rainbow, dancing on the clouds, flying gracefully like a butterfly and your smile and laughter shining with the stars. I will hear you singing in the morning when the birds begin to chirp. In the wind I will whisper words of love to you.

Thank you for the gift you gave us of your precious son Lorcan, you gave him unconditional love and instilled this in him. I love you my darling, my beautiful precious daughter. Our connection still lives on you are never too far away.
