Gene's wife Aileen, his children Damien, Leona and Melanie, would like to thank all of you who sympathised with us on the sad occasion of Gene's passing.

 

To all of those who left heartfelt messages, sent Mass cards, floral tributes, those who travelled long distances to be with us, thank you, and a big thank you to the Bertie Auld Celtic supporters club for the guard of honor.

 

To Gene's extended family and large circle of friends we would like to thank you, to our great neighbours for the kindness they have shown us at this difficult time.

 

We would also take this time to say a special thank you to Gene's brother Donal, to his cousins Pat and Ger and his friends Pascal, Mick and Pat, for always being there for Gene and always keeping his spirits high.

 

A special word of thanks to professor Derek Power and his medical team at the Mercy Hospital who looked after Gene during his illness. To the Palliative Care Team at Marymount Hospital, especially Yvonne and Fiona, for their kindness and compassion whenever they came to our home. To the public health team, especially Eileen and Siobhain, who always treated Gene with gentleness when they came to our home. To the Marian Pharmacy for always being so helpful.

 

To O'Sullivan's funeral home for the care shown to us as a family at this difficult time.

 

To Sarah for her lovely singing and Fr Greg for the service.

 

We want to say thank you to the Friars Walk Tavern who looked after us for Gene's funeral.

 

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our gratitude. Mass has been offered for your intentions.

 

Gene's anniversary Mass is on the 26th of May at 10.30am in The Church of the Assumption
