Fionn O'Brien

 Fionn O'Brien

Knockanean, Tulla Rd., Ennis, Clare

Pat, Michelle, Conor, Niall and Saidhbh will be eternally grateful for having Fionn in our lives. We, along with his extended family wish to thank everyone who have expressed sympathy with us following Fionn’s heartbreaking death. We were overwhelmed with the level of support given by our community. Every person who lined the road on Fionn’s last journey gave us strength and helped us celebrate his life while we grieve his death.

The young people from St Josephs Doora Barefield GAA club, Clare Water Safety, Clare CC Lifeguard service, students past and present of Knockanean NS and Rice College, Ennis Rugby Club were a credit to their families and communities. They really honoured Fionn with their respectful presence at his funeral. To the Irish Coast Guard service, University Hospital Limerick, friends and fellow Lifeguards, we express our total gratitude for your immediate and professional response and to the SAR Shannon Helicopter service, thank you for being above and going beyond.

Our family are so grateful to Fr Tom Ryan for his thoughtful preparation and celebration of Fionn’s funeral Mass in the beautifully presented Church of Our Lady and to Fr Joy Njarakattuvely and UL chaplain Fr John Campion who concelebrated. Monica Morgan Kearney accompanied by Michael Hennessy musically made our remembrance very special. Special thanks to Daly’s Undertakers in particular to Sean Daly for his kindness and organisation and thank you to all involved in preparing the grave in Drumcliffe. We are very grateful to An Garda Síochána for the escort provided.

It May not be possible to thank everyone individually, please be assured of our deepest gratitude for every support given. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

Fionn’s 1st anniversary Mass will be held in Church of Our Lady, Roslevan at 11am on Tuesday, 5th July 2022.
