 George English

School Place, Arklow, Wicklow

George’s wife Martha, son Brendan & all his family wish to extend their most sincere gratitude for the many expressions of sympathy & support they received throughout George’s sad & unexpected passing & during the time since.

Heartfelt thanks to those who visited the funeral home, those who gathered for the celebration of George’s life & his burial, either in person of via livestream, those who sent cards, letters & texts, to those who shared beautiful memories online & most especially those who travelled long distances to be with them. Thanks also to those who donated geberously to the Arklow R.N.L.I. in George’s memory https://gofund.me/b3bca659

Thank you to Fr Pádraig Ó’Cochláin & Fr David Brough for their prayers & guidance.  Our eternal gratitude to Dr. Buggle, Dr. McCabe & Dr. Doyle & their staff at Sheltonville Surgery & to the staff of Ferrybank CarePlus Pharmacy for their care & kindness to George over many years & to the Ambulance Service & the staff of St. Vincent’s Hospital who assisted him in his final hours.

Thank you to Emily-Kate, Melissa & Geraldine for reading so beautifully at George’s celebration & to Joe Keogh for your fabulous eulogy. Thank you to Edwina & Melissa O’Connor for their equestrian tribute & to the crew of Arklow R.N.L.I. for their Guard of Honour.

Thank you to all at Coral Leisure Centre, both staff & friends, to Marie & Dee for their wonderful support, to our very kind neighbours, to George’s cousins, relatives & large circle of friends especially Vincie, Michael, Willie, Seamus, Joe, David & to anyone whose lives George touched over many years.

Thanks also to Jim, May & their staff at The Bridge Hotel for their hospitality, to Joe O’Toole for tending to the grave & to all at John Sweeney & Sons Funeral Directors.

As it would be impossible to thank everybody individually, we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our sincere appreciation.

George’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on his first birthday away from home; Sunday 24th April at 11.30am in St.’s Mary & Peter’s Church & those who cannot attend are welcome to join via webcam
