Gerald (Gerry) Benson

 Gerald (Gerry) Benson

Riverstown, Sligo / Dublin

We, the brothers and sisters of the late Gerry Benson and our extended family would like to offer our sincere thanks and appreciation to all those who sympathised with us in our recent bereavement.  We are very grateful to the neighbours, friends and family who attended the removal, sent cards, left online condolences, attended the funeral Mass and burial or helped in any way. It helped us through a very sad time.

We wish to thank Dr Swan, Practice nurse Ciara and staff, and the staff at Riverstown Pharmacy for their kindness and support over the years. We would also like to thank Gerry's carer Joe for his gentleness and dedication and the staff and drivers at Gleann community centre  where  Gerry attended  a couple times a week for activities.

We wish to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Support staff of I.C.U. at Sligo University hospital for the excellent professional care given to Gerry and the understanding supportive approach to our family. It was a great comfort to us knowing he was in the best place for him at that time. We thank Fr Brian Conlon, Chaplain, and his team for their ongoing support during Gerrys last few Days.

Sincere thanks to Fr A.B. O’Shea and Fr Jim  Murray for celebrating the funeral Mass and Fr Murray for graveside Liturgy. Thanks also to Siobhan Flynn and Ray Cotter for providing the music and lovely singing.

Many thanks also to John McDermott Funeral Director for organising the funeral arrangements.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as an expression of our sincere thanks and appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of Mass has been offered for your intentions.

"Content in your home, and always there,

On earth you toiled, in Heaven you rest,

God bless you Gerry, you were one of the best.
