 Gerard Gilligan

Ross, Manorhamilton, Leitrim

We, Gerard’s brothers, sisters and extended family, wish to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to all who sympathised and supported us on Gerard’s passing.

Thanks so very much to Tracey and the staff of Hilltop who provided exceptional loving care to Gerard during his time with you, but especially during his final weeks. We will never forget your kindness and care. Thanks to the palliative care team of the North West Hospice for your wonderful care and support in Gerard’s final months. We also thank Dr. Keith Russell for your care for Gerard over many years and especially in his final days.

Our heartfelt gratitude to Fr. John Carroll for your care and support for Gerard and for us, his family, during his final weeks. This support was a constant source of comfort to all of us.

Thanks to the sisters and staff of Cregg Services who cared for Gerard throughout his life and provided him with opportunities to enjoy life and live independently.

Thanks to all who paid respects on the route to the church and in the cemetery and all who shared in Gerard’s funeral Mass online. Thanks also for the many condolences we received through Mass cards, sympathy cards, phone calls, messages of condolences on RIP.ie and OceanFM.ie and to those who donated to HSE Cregg Services, Hilltop.

A special word of thanks to our cousin Fr. John and to Deacon Padraig Kelly for your prayers and support while Gerard reposed at home. To all those who supported us in any way at this difficult time, we really appreciate it.

Sincere thanks to Fr. John Gilhooly who celebrated a beautiful and meaningful funeral Mass, to Tracy and Philip for your special contribution to the Mass and to Anne and Austin for the beautiful music.

To Connolly and McDonald, Funeral Directors, thank you for your kindness and professionalism in carrying out the arrangements.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually please accept this acknowledgement of our sincere appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

Gerard’s Months Mind Mass will be celebrated in St. Clare’s Church, Manorhamilton, on Sunday, 1st August, 2021, at 11.30am. Mass will be livestreamed at www.churchtv.ie/manorhamilton.
