Acknowledgement & 1st Anniversary

Ger’s wife Claire, sons Barry and Conor, and the extended Mc Carthy and Barry families would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to everyone who has helped and supported us as we navigate our way in a very different world without Ger. We have been overwhelmed by the many expressions of sympathy and gestures of kindness.

Thank you to all those who travelled near and far to attend the funeral home, mass and burial. To Fr. Ó Loingsigh & all the clergy who concelebrated Ger’s funeral mass and to the Cork Prison Officers Male Voice Choir for their powerful musical tribute to Ger.

 A special mention to Ger’s former colleagues in Cork Prison and the Mardyke, his clubmates in Grenagh GAA and Mallow Golf Club as well as the staff and students of MTU and St. Colman’s College who lined the road on Ger’s final journey.

To our family, friends and neighbours who rallied to our side, in person, and kind deed, in so many ways over the past year, Your continued support, kindness and compassion will never be forgotten. 

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a heartfelt expression of our gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for the intentions of all.

Ger’s 1st Anniversary Mass will be held on Sunday 24th of November at 11am in St. Lachteen’s Church, Grenagh.

Loved beyond words, missed beyond measure. R.I.P.
