Gerry’s wife Judy, daughters Linda and Marie, grandaughter Robyn, mother Kathleen, son in law Aidan, brothers and sisters and extended Collevy family would like to express our sincere gratitude for the support and kindness shown to us on our recent heart breaking loss of Ger.

Thanks to everyone who sympathised with us, called to our home, cooked meals, dropped in food, telephoned, sent texts, mass cards, floral tributes and made donations. Thanks to all those who attended the removal,funeral mass and burial, to those who travelled long distances, especially our family in Chicago who rearranged flights to be with us. We are deeply grateful.

We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to our wonderful family, friends and neighbours who without hesitation gave us every support during the difficult days following Ger’s passing. Thanks for all the practical help and comfort given to us. Thanks also for the continuous prayers, candles, good wishes and many visits to Ger over the last few months, he was blessed with great friends and family in his life. Thanks for sharing your many stories and memories with us, stories that brought both tears and laughter. They were a great comfort to us all. Your love and support will be remembered always.

A special mention to our family friends Michelle, Michelle H, Niamh, Ollie and Michael for all the practical support given to us throughout the funeral.

We would also like to thank the staff in St. Michaels Ward, UCHG for their kindness, a special word of thanks to Alan in the radiation department for always greeting Ger with a smile and a kind and humorous manner. Thanks to Damien and staff in Mulrooneys Pharmacy for their constant support and assistance, to the palliative care team for their care, compassion and respect, to Anne the physio and Marie and Annmarie public health nurses for their care and attention and Sadie for her continuous support and friendship. Thanks also to Dr. Matt Linehan and Dr. Jim Moore for the care given to Ger throughout the years.

Sincere thanks to the Franciscan College for the use of their Oratory for Ger’s  removal. Many thanks to Fr. Karl Burns for a beautiful and fitting funeral mass and to Fr. Ray Sweeney for concelebrating the mass. A heartfelt word of thanks to Carmel Dempsey and Gerry Cunningham for providing the beautiful music and to all our family members who participated in the mass. 

To the gravediggers thank you most sincerely for preparing Ger’s final resting place with such great care and attention. Also thanks to Aidan for driving Ger on his final journey.

Thanks to Milands for the flowers and sincere thanks to Kathleen and Larry and staff in the Malthouse for providing the lovely meal after the funeral.

To Gerry Hughes, thank you for your help during the funeral but also over the last few years, you were always on hand to help when needed.

Finally a heartfelt thanks to Mountbellew/Moylough GAA and Camogie clubs for the Guard of Honour so fitting for Ger on the evening of the removal, we were truly touched by this lovely tribute.

To all those who helped in any way, your goodness and kindness will never be forgotten.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually please accept this acknowledgment as an expression of our deepest gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

Months Mind Mass for Ger will take place on Sunday 25th June in St. Mary’s Church, Mountbellew at 1pm
