Acknowledgement and First Anniversary
18th December 2021
Remembering Hannah with love and cherished memories on this her first anniversary. We her family wish to extend our sincere gratitude to all who supported and sympathised with us on our sad loss.
Our heartfelt thanks to all those who made phone calls, wrote meaningful and supportive messages on social media, sent cards, dropped food and supplies to our door as well as those who donated generously to the Friends of Bantry Hospital in Mam’s memory.
We are extremely grateful to our amazing family, friends, neighbours, and supportive work colleagues. Your continued support will never be forgotten. It would not be possible to name everyone, but we would like to especially thank Martin, Madeline, Michael and Mary.
We gratefully acknowledge those who kindly lined the roadside for Hannah on her final journey and those who joined us as we travelled in convoy from her home to the church. Thank you to those who stood in support outside the church and at the graveside. Albeit at a safe distance we will never forget the profound sense of solace felt by the family on witnessing the moving display of community solidarity, a beautiful way for the community to say a final farewell to Mam.
Heartfelt thanks to Fr John Heinhold for his prayers at Mam’s bedside, for making the funeral mass so special with his comforting homily and graveside prayers. Sincere gratitude to Arthur and Kevin Coakley Undertakers for their professionalism and compassion shown to us and to Mam. Our thanks also to the sacristan, and to the gravediggers who prepared Mam’s final place of rest.
We thank Marien, Darren and Sidney for their beautiful singing at the mass and their musical tribute at the graveside, a lifting farewell to Mam.
Special words of thanks to Bantry Hospital for its essential services, to Dr Brian Carey, Dr Mark Hannon, and the wonderful hospital staff. Their compassion and professionalism provided us with great comfort, knowing that Mam was well cared for. Our thanks also to Dr Matt Murphy, Dr Gitte Wieneke and the staff of Marino Medical centre for the care that they provided to Mam over many years, Westgate Foundation and the home carers who made it possible for Mam to be at home, especially Siobhan and Laura.
The holy sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions and for the repose of Hannah’s soul on Saturday 18th December at 10am in St Finbarr’s Church, Bantry. (Mass will be live streamed on http://www.bantryparish.ie/)
Your life was love and labour,
Your love for your family true.
You did your best for all of us,
We will always remember you.
Until we meet again our loss is Heaven’s gain.
