In Loving Memory of Helena (Lena) Coughlan née Crean, Shannon, Co. Clare (formerly of Cork City), who passed away peacefully on 26th June 2024, aged 95 years.

On this, the first anniversary of Lena’s passing, her family remembers her with deep love and gratitude. A devoted mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, beloved sister, aunt, friend and neighbour, Lena’s warm presence, clear mind, deep faith, and unwavering strength remained with her until the very end. Lena is now in heaven and reunited with her loving parents, Edward and Elizabeth, and her beloved husband, Charles.

Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children Irene, Fergus, Edward, and Helen and their families, her sister Peg and her husband Pat, her brother Donal, neighbours, and many dear friends.

A much-loved member of the Shannon community, Lena was known for her friendly nature and genuine interest in others. She found great joy in people, and a simple chat or warm exchange with a familiar face brightened her day.

A special word of thanks to all who supported and showed care and kindness to Lena, and to those who sympathised with us when she passed away. Your support meant more than words can express. We are deeply grateful to all who continue to keep Lena in their thoughts and prayers. Deepest gratitude to the nursing and medical staff at Ennis General Hospital for their great care and support during Lena’s final days and to Flynn Medical in Shannon, to Fr.Tom Whelan, to Jemma and Deirdre of St Senan’s Parish and to undertaker Richard McMahon and his staff.     

Lena’s First Anniversary Mass will be held in Ss. John and Paul Church, Shannon, on Sunday, 6th July at 12 noon.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere appreciation. The Holy sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
