Hugh O'Connell

 Hugh O'Connell

Ardilaun Road, Newcastle, Galway / Headford, Galway

Hugh’s beloved partner Laura and the O’Connell family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all who sympathised with them on their recent sad loss.

Sincere thanks to all who called to our homes, phoned and sent messages of support, attended the funeral, travelled long distances, sent mass cards and floral tributes and to our family, friends and neighbours who helped in so many ways.

A special word of thanks to Hugh’s amazing friends who consoled and comforted us throughout the week. We will be forever grateful to them. Thank you to the Murphy family, Kiniska for their kindness to Hugh and to us all.

Our thanks to the Ambulance Service and staff of U.H.G. for their care and assistance.

Deepest thanks to Fr. O’Brien for his time, prayers and thoughtful words and for celebrating Hugh’s beautiful requiem mass. Thanks also to Fr. Fergal Cunnane, Dunmore for concelebrating. To all who participated in Hugh’s funeral mass, especially the musicians who paid a fitting and personal tribute to Hugh, we are truly grateful.

To the gravediggers for the great care they took in preparing his final resting place and to the Angler’s Rest Hotel for the lovely food and hospitality, thank you. We are also very appreciative of the sensitivity and professionalism of James Carey throughout.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude.

Month’s Mind Mass on Saturday, 23rd September, at 12 in Corner Chapel.
