Dad sadly passed away April 26th 2025
To our family, friends, neighbours and everyone who took a moment to post online, sent flowers, and cards, or attended the Reposal or Funeral Mass, our deepest thanks for your condolence and sympathies. We felt your support around us and it carries us through.
Our memories of the beautiful tributes paid to Dad by Fr.Chestnutt, and his friends from Williamstown Golf Club, the gentle emotion of David Flynn's delivery of the chosen hymns and recessional song, will also give us comfort in the years to come.
We have been blown away by the kindness, and empathy shown to us over this difficult time.
It is still rather unreal to us, perhaps because of the wonderful care of Michael and everyone at Thompsons Funeral Home. They made everything as easy as possible given the circumstances, and helped us to navigate the days and hours immediately after. We had time to focus on what was important. We thank them wholeheartedly.
Dad was declared ill quite suddenly, and we wish to thank all the medical and care workers Jack met before passing.
Our gratitude to the Paramedics, Billy and Rodger who transferred him to UHW, for the care and consideration they took to ease his anxiety.
Everyone in A&E in the early hours of 24/4/25, Dr Julia A&E, Nicola and Jason in RESUS,we met in the most difficult of situations, thank you all for your empathy and support on the night and your part in caring for Dad.
We are also forever grateful to Dr McSweeney of Oak Ward affording us time and space to process, and giving Jack ease and comfort, allowing him leave us so peacefully.
To his doctors and nurses at the Keogh Practice, our deepest gratitude for all you did over the years.
And special thanks to all the staff in Grange Ward and WRCC who made us so welcome and part of their family. It became home from home.
Everyone we met will always be remembered.
Their kindness will not be forgotten.
Thank you.
