Acknowledgement and First Anniversary.
We remember Jan with love on his first anniversary, 24 January. He is greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Majell (Ryan) and children Éanna, Síofra and Sorcha.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all who have supported us in so many ways since Jan’s sudden death.
We are deeply grateful to those who attended Jan’s removal, requiem mass and committal service, especially those who travelled long distances.
Our heartfelt thanks to Fr. Michael P. O’Sullivan, M.Afr, for his kindness, compassion and guidance. We also thank Fr. Peter O’Reilly, P.P., for his support and pastoral care.
A special word of thanks to the students from St Patrick’s Loreto Primary School and St Andrew’s College and the players from Dublin Raiders Basketball Club who provided a Guard of Honour at the church. Jan would really have been thrilled to be recognised in this way.
We acknowledge with gratitude everyone who sent mass cards, letters, texts and those who shared comforting words and happy memories on RIP.ie.
Thank you to everyone who donated so generously to Bray Cardiac First Responders and Kilrush RNLI in Jan’s memory.
We would like to thank most sincerely the emergency services, especially Dr. David Menzies, for their care and support on the day of Jan’s sudden death.
To those who helped in any way, your kindness made our loss more bearable.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our sincere appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
Jan was much loved, and his kindness, sense of humour, love of family and joy for life will live on in our home and in the hearts of all who knew him.
Jan’s first anniversary mass will take place on Sunday 25 January at 12pm in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Bray.
Slaap Zacht Jan
