 Jimmy Quinn

114 Bianconi Drive, Clonmel, formerley Lacka, Carrig, Birr, Tipperary

Died 4th March 2021.

Jimmy’s children, Veronica, Jacqueline, Jimmy, Kevin, Clodagh & Brian, together with Pauly, Ollie, Carol, Maxine & Eleanor, his grandchildren Janelle, Keely, Rachel, Jamie, Amy, Gemma, Corey, Darragh, Becky, Grace, Aaron, Leah & Josh, sister Geraldine, brothers Johnnie & Dessie, would like to thank all those who sympathised with us on our very recent loss.  To all those who phoned or called to our home, sent text messages, Mass cards, floral tributes, listened to the funeral Mass online, social distanced in the cemetery to show your support we are incredibly grateful.

To Doctor G Sullivan and staff at Mary St. Medical Centre, O'Gorman’s Pharmacy, and medical teams at University Hospital Waterford & University Hospital Tallaght, we thank you.

St. Mary’s Clg, Clonmel Commercials and Marlfield Hurling Club, the guard of honour as we left the church was lovely to see and was very much appreciated, he would have been proud as punch to see you all there.  To the O.N.E ex-service men your tribute at the graveside was beautiful and we are very thankful.

To Elaine for the preparation of St. Oliver’s Church, the videographer, Andrea & Emmet for the beautiful music, Ronan O’Dwyer and the gravediggers for attending the grave and to Brendan Cagney for live streaming the burial, ensuring our family and friends overseas could be with us virtually at an exceedingly difficult time, we cannot thank you all enough.

We would like to send heartfelt thanks to Anthony & David Fennessy of Fennessy Funeral Directors who looked after every aspect of the funeral in a very caring and professional way.  Great friends for many years you knew exactly what he liked, you added those special touches which meant the world to us. Fr. Michael Hegarty for a beautiful, personal Mass, for the prayers for Dad and us in the weeks leading to his death and most importantly your constant support to Dad during the last five tough years.

To his many great friends from the town of Clonmel that he adopted as his own since he moved here in 1958 when he joined the army, those he enjoyed a good game of cards with and those lifelong friends he met  through his involvement and love of the GAA especially hurling, both club and county, your messages and support reached us from all over Tipperary and beyond, we read them all and took great comfort from all the nice things you had to say about him, especially his big smile.

To our immediate and extended family, our friends and neighbours in Bianconi Drive, your support and acts of kindness helped us immensely at a difficult time.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our appreciation and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

May you rest in eternal peace Dad
