12th October 2023 on her First Anniversary
As we lovingly remember Joan on her first anniversary, we would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for the support, love and kindness shown to our family throughout Mam’s whole life, during her illness and throughout our devastating time of loss.
A sincere thank you to all our extended family, our great neighbours and wonderful friends who supported and helped us at an incredibly difficult time. Your presence, mass cards, enrolments, stories, letters of sympathy, visits to our home, phone calls and online condolences meant so much and brought us great solace throughout our heartache. We are so grateful to you all.
Our heartfelt appreciation to all of those who participated in Mam’s funeral mass, which was concelebrated by our cousin Fr. Donal Cotter and the priests of the parish, all of whom had spent special times with Mam, shared prayers and showed her so much kindness, bringing her great comfort and peace. Thanks to Fitzgerald funeral directors and their staff for their support, advice and professionalism.
Our sincere gratitude to all the health care workers, nurses and doctors who cared for Mam during her illness, in particular her home carers, with whom she shared many a story and much joy. The compassion, kindness, care and support shown to Mam and to us as a family will never be forgotten.
Mam loved all her wonderful friends dearly and we want to thank you sincerely for the steadfast support and love shown to Mam and to us all. A special thanks to Mam’s good friends at An Garda Síochána for arranging a guard of honour at Mam’s removal. It was a truly beautiful tribute to our beloved mother and a testament to her friendships there.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our appreciation and gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions.
Mam’s spirit continues to live on in our hearts. She is with us every step of the way and we feel her loving presence guiding and protecting us all. We ask Mam to pray for us, to stay close to us always and to shine her light of love on us forever.
Always loved, remembered and dearly missed by all her family.
Joan’s Anniversary Mass will take place on Sunday October 15th at 11.30am in St. Colman’s Church, Macroom.
