We the family of the late Joan Murphy would like to acknowledge and thank most sincerely all those who supported and sympathised with us on Joan's passing. Thanks to those who travelled from far and near, called to the house, brought food, sent Mass cards, texts, phones calls, letters and left meaningful messages on rip.ie.
We are very grateful to all the doctors, nurses, ambulance crew and extended medical teams and staff who looked after Joan so well over many years both in Dublin (St. Vincent's Private and Public Hospital and St. Michael's Hospital Dun Laoghaire) and in Kerry (The Bon Secours Hospital Tralee and UHK Tralee). Thanks to her GP's and staff both in 17, Ashe Street Tralee and Fuchsia Medical Centre Tralee for all your care and kindness over the years. A special mention to Dr. Patricia Sheahan and all her wonderful team that work in the Kerry Palliative Care Unit - a unique and special place at a very significant time in a family's life. We would also like to mention the HSE Home Help team who visited and cared for Joan in the last few months of her life. We thank most sincerely the staff of Leahy's Pharmacy for their kindness, patience and professionalism, while dealing with Joan's pharmaceutical needs over many years.
To Fr. Pádraig Walsh, we thank you for your friendship and support to Joan and to us as a family over many years. We also acknowledge the beautiful Funeral Mass that you concelebrated for Joan. Thanks to Noel Mc Auliffe, Leonard Casey and Joan's grandson Séamus Harty for enriching the Mass with your beautiful singing and music.
Sincere thanks to Seán Gleasure and The Gleasure Funeral Home team for your professionalism, guidance and kindness. Thanks to all those involved in preparing the grave for burial and to Maurice Roche for the lovely work he did on the grave since Joan's burial. To Anne O Sullivan and Margaret Groves many thanks for your beautiful flower arrangements.
A special thanks to all of Joan's many wonderful friends, relatives and neighbours (old and new,) for their friendship, kindness, thoughtfulness, fun, laughter, lunches, soirées and holidays over many years in her beloved Tubber, Tralee and afar. We are grateful to the Scotia Probus Ladies and Tralee Flower and Gardening Club for their thoughtful guard of honour accompanying Joan on her final journey.
Thanks to the Meadowlands Hotel for looking after our family, relatives and friends who travelled long distances to be with us.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this as a token of our sincere gratitude and appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
Joan's First Anniversary Mass will take place on Saturday, September 28th 2024 at 6:30pm at Our Lady and St. Brendan's Parish Church, Tralee.
