Joe Drennan

 Joe Drennan

Mountrath, Laois

Joe,

A thousand words

won’t bring you back,

we know because we’ve tried.

Neither will a thousand tears,

we know because we’ve cried.

Your memory is our keepsake,

With which we’ll never part.

God has you in his keeping,

We have you in our hearts.

The family of the late Joe Drennan, Knocknagad, Mountrath, Co Laois wishes to express their sincere and heartfelt thanks to all who offered their support after Joe’s unexpected passing.

We firstly want to thank everyone who came to Joe’s aid; the paramedics, nurses and doctors in Limerick Hospital; and to the Gardai in Henry Street Garda Station; we want to thank you for your professionalism and continuous efforts.

To everyone who offered their sympathies and support, sent mass/sympathy cards, letters of condolence, phone/social media messages and floral tributes thank you.

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to all those who helped around our home, especially our neighbours and life long friends; who provided refreshments, assisted with parking and so much more. To Eddie Phelan and family; thank you for all your help during the wake; and for providing the wonderful refreshments after the funeral.

To the Camross community, Joe’s wide circle of friends and the faculty and students of UL, we were so moved to see how many lives Joe touched. A huge thanks to Joe’s lecturer Kathryn Hayes for giving the wonderful tribute about Joe; and Sister Sarah O’Rourke for your words of comfort. We were truly humbled and gratified to see the guards of honour provided by Mountrath Community School, Camross N.S and Camross GAA.

Thank you to Fr Brian Griffith who was a source of enormous support and consolation to us during this sad time. We would also like to thank Fr Joe Brobhy PP Mountrath and Fr John Campion UL for assisting in Joe's Requiem mass which truly encapsulated Joe’s short but remarkable life. To Seamus Burke undertaker; the gravediggers; and Elaine Lambe music we wish to offer our esteemed gratitude and thanks.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our sincere appreciation to all.

Joe’s Month Mind Mass will be held in St. Fergal’s Church, Camross on 10th November 2023 at 7.30 pm.
