John’s children Ann, Michelle, John, Stephen & all his family wish to extend our sincere thanks for the many expressions of respect, sympathy & support we received at the time of John’s sad passing & during the weeks since.
Thank you to everyone who visited the funeral home, attended John’s removal, funeral Mass & burial, sent Mass cards, letters & texts, those who shared happy memories & warm messages online, those who travelled long distances to offer comfort & support & those who couldn’t be present but joined us in the celebration of John’s life via webcam. Our most sincere thanks to the wonderful staff of St. Colmcille’s Hospital, Loughlinstown who brought such great care to John’s final weeks & to the team at Wicklow Hospice for the comfort & dignity they brought to his final days. Thanks also to Dr June Coates & all at Arklow Medical Practice, to John’s wonderful carers from Bluebird Care & to the staff of Adrian Dunne’s Pharmacy.
To our own extended families, colleagues, friends & neighbours, we thank you for your continued support.
Special thanks to Fr. David Brough for his prayers, comforting guidance & beautiful funeral Mass & to Michael Flood & Patricia Kavanagh for such fabulous music.
Our heartfelt thanks to John’s dear friends from the Arklow Rock Parnells for their Guard of Honour, such a lovely tribute.
Thanks also to the management & staff of The Arklow Bay Hotel for their hospitality, to Joe & Tom from R.S.S. for tending to the grave & to all at John Sweeney & Sons Funeral Directors.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our sincere appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for the intentions of all.
John’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, 6th July, at 6.30pm in St. Mary & Peter’s Church. Those who cannot attend are welcome to join via webcam;
