 John Coughlan

Cork City, Cork

First Anniversary

The relatives of the late John Coughlan, Blarney St., Cork who passed away peacefully on the 11th of June 2024, would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to all those who sympathised with us on our loss on this, his First Anniversary.

We offer our heartfelt thanks to those who attended the Visitation, Funeral Mass and burial, those who sent Mass Cards, Letters, Messages and left online condolences on Rip.ie.

In particular we would like to thank Fr. Shinu Varghese CC who officiated over the Funeral Mass and provided words of comfort, Coughlan's Funeral Home, Shandon St., for their professionalism and guidance in arranging the funeral and Michael O’Leary who gave the eulogy.

We are especially grateful to the Blue Demons Basketball Club Chairman, Committee, members both past and present and the extended basketball family throughout Cork and Ireland for their steadfast support.

Also we would like to extend our thanks to Dr. Shane Murphy and the staff at Ballincollig Community Nursing Unit particularly the Shournagh Ward for the compassionate care they provided to John in the final years of his life.

To his neighbours in Blarney St., particularly Martina and Finbarr, there are no words to express our gratitude to the kindness shown to John down through the years. We are eternally grateful.

Deeply loved and respected by all that knew and encountered John, be it family, the basketball fraternity, which was a major part of his life. John was highly respected by all who dealt with him during his countless years of service within the basketball organisation. He was held in such high regard that  he was constantly addressed as Mr. Coughlan by young and old. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him for his wise counsel and fairness.

Thank you for remembering him with us.
