As we lovingly remember Johnny on this, his first anniversary away from us, his wife Maureen, children John, Amanda, Nigel, Aoife, Cian, Triona and their families wish to extend their thanks to relatives, neighbours and friends for all their love and support at such a sad time.
Thank you to everyone who came, from near and far, to attend John’s removal, funeral mass and burial, and to those who sent flowers, mass cards and messages of condolence. Special thanks to all those that phoned, called to the house and to everyone who brought food and refreshments, so many acts of kindness none of which went unnoticed. To all those that shared a memory of John, a little story or a joke (and there were many), you gave us great comfort and lifted our spirits, we enjoyed hearing them all, we give you our utmost thanks.
To the staff in CUH Renal unit, Dr Sarah Moran and her team, especially Michael Burke who was a great support to Dad through his illness, to Dr Kiely and staff in Woodview and Irwins pharmacy Mayfield, thank you for the care you gave John. Thank you to Jerh O’Connor’s Mayfield for their professionalism and kindness. Thank you to Fr Pontianus for his kind words and funeral mass and Jack Welsh for the lovely music. Thank you to An Garda Siochana Mayfield for their assistance with traffic and for the escort of the funeral procession.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually please accept this acknowledgement as sincere thanks and appreciation. The holy sacrifice of the mass has been offered for your intentions.
Johnny’s first anniversary mass will be offered on Sunday 4th May at 11am in St Joseph’s Church, Mayfield.
Do not stand by my grave, and weep.
I am not there.
I do not sleep-
I am the thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints in snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle, autumn rain.
As you awake with morning's hush,
I am the swift, up-flinging rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the day transcending night.
Do not stand
By my grave, and cry-
I am not there, I did not die.
Loved and missed, forever in our hearts.
