JOHN (JACK) BROPHY
In loving memory of JACK BROPHY
93 Marian Place Tullamore, Co. Offaly
Formerly of Byrnesgrove, Ballyragget, Co. Kilkenny
Died: 17th November 2021, aged 100 years

As we lovingly remember our dear father Jack on his first anniversary, we wish to thank most sincerely
all those who sympathised and supported us on our great loss. At a time when sympathising was made
difficult due to the pandemic, we gratefully appreciated all the Mass cards, perpetual Mass enrolments,
sympathy cards, letters, phone calls, flowers, messages of sympathy and condolences online.

Thanks to those who attended the funeral Mass or viewed it online, and to those who attended the burial.
Thanks to all our family, friends and neighbours from near and far, who stood outside our home and
those who lined the streets to the Church and Cemetery, to show their solidarity in our grief.

Thanks to Fr. Joe Campbell who officiated at the funeral Mass and for his spiritual and comforting words
and to Fr. Joe Gallagher, Fr. Michael O’Meara and Fr. Frank Guinan, who concelebrated the Mass.
Thanks to P.J. Smyth and Pat Kidney for the beautiful hymns and music during the Mass. Thanks to Phil O’Reilly, Funeral Directors for their professional and sensitive handling of all the necessary arrangements, and to the gravediggers who prepared Dad’s final resting place.

We thank the priests of the parish, especially Fr. Shane Crombie for his regular visits to Dad at home and
providing for his spiritual needs. Thanks to Fr. Kevin Fleming and Fr. Jimmy Nolan who visited Dad both
at home and in the nursing home.

We wish to thank the management and staff of Mowlam Nursing Home Moate for the excellent care
given to Dad, and for their kindness and support to our family during his time there. A special word of
thanks to Fr. James Murray, who provided for Dad’s spiritual needs and pastoral care, which was a great
comfort to him. Our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Peter Kearney and Dr. Jim Quinlan for their wonderful care and kindness to Dad at home.

We are very grateful for the dignified way the professional carers and public health nurses tended to
Dad during his last years at home. Thanks to the staff of Fahey’s Pharmacy for their help and kindness.

A special word of thanks to our extended family and to Dad’s loyal and close friends who visited him
regularly in his home and then in the nursing home. Thanks to the members of the Legion of Mary who
kept in close contact with Dad throughout this time and recited the Rosary and Legion prayers at the
Reposing. These visits brought Dad great joy and happiness and were greatly appreciated by the family.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually please accept this acknowledgement as an
expression of our deepest gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
Dad’s first anniversary Mass will take place on Saturday 19th November at 6.30pm in the Church of the Assumption, Tullamore.
