FIRST ANNIVERSARY & ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

As we lovingly remember John, whose first anniversary occurs on January 10th 2021, his wife Breda; children Fiona, Katrina (since passed), Niamh, Orla, Daniel and Tara; grandchildren Fionn and Rian; and extended family wish to express their gratitude to all those who sympathised with us on our sad loss.

We offer our heartfelt thanks to the many friends, neighbours and well-wishers who visited our home, attended the wake, service and burial and provided emotional and practical support for us during this difficult time. For those who telephoned, travelled long distances, sent floral tributes, cards and messages of condolences, brought refreshments and made tea, as well as those who made charitable donations, we are truly grateful.

To those who helped in any way, your contribution made our loss bearable. We would like to thank everyone for their love and care of John during his life and when he was sick, as well as those who supported us during his funeral and in the past year.

Thank you to all of the healthcare professionals who took care of John, including his GPs Dr. Shane Hurley, Dr. Audrey Russell and the staff at the K Practice Macroom, the staff at the Railway View Pharmacy, Macroom, his oncologist Dr. Brian Bird and the oncology ward staff at the Bon Secours' Hospital, the palliative care nurses who took care of John at home, and all the staff at Marymount Hospice.

Thanks to Cannon Donal Roberts, Father Joe O'Mahony, and all the priests and sacristans of Macroom parish for their prayers and support, the staff at Fitz-geralds Funeral Services for their professionalism and guidance, the gravediggers, Garda Donal O' Donovan for assisting with the traffic during the funeral, Micheal Bradley for the beautiful music, and the Macroom Men's Shed for their friendship to John and their Guard of Honour during his funeral.

It is impossible to thank everyone individually, so please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude.

The First Anniversary Mass for John and his daughter Katrina, who passed on February 29th 2020, will be held on Saturday January 23rd at 7.30pm in St. Colman's Church, Macroom. Mass may be viewed on https://www.churchservices.tv/macroom.
