John O’Dwyer - Church Street, Dublin 7
The family of the late John O’Dwyer (Church Street, Dublin 7 and Allguardroofing Ltd) who died suddenly on the 30th January 2024 would like to take this opportunity to thank most sincerely all those who sympathized with the sudden loss. His wife Marion and his adored children Glenda, Karen, Joy, Hayley and Tasha, his heartbroken grandchildren Harley, Lola-Belle, Tiger Lily, Rosie, Annie, Elijah, Leah and Lorna, his daughter’s partners Darren and Eddie and extended families would to thank most sincerely all those who supported us throughout our heartache and loss of our loving husband, father and grandfather.
We will be forever grateful to Sean Kane and Willie Ward who were first to attend John on that morning. The ambulance services, fire brigade and Garda from the bridewell for their effortlessly attempts on the morning of the 30th January. To the doctors and nurses in the resuscitation unit at the Mater Hospital who worked so hard to try save John and Dr Stephen Gately - Family GP.
To Alan, Sheera, Eoghan and staff in Bourkes Funeral Home for how much compassion and professionalism they showed us in looking after John before we brought him home which was outstanding and we are forever grateful.
A sincere thank you to the priests of St Mary of the Angels, Church Street, Dublin 7 - Fr Kevin, Fr Byran, Fr Richard, Fr Martin, Fr Anthony and Fr James for calling to our home and doing the prayers, rosary and beautiful Funeral Mass. To Brian Dunphy and Deirdre Doyle for the beautiful music at the Mass and to Ciaran from the Cobblestone Bar for doing John’s wake at the house and for the song Folsom Prison in the Church. To Veronica Ryan and Grafton Flowers for the flowers and tributes they were beautiful.
We offer our heartfelt thanks to all our family, friends and neighbours. To all who visited our home, attended the wake, service and burial and who provided emotional and comforting support for us at this most difficult time. For those who telephoned, travelled long distances, sent floral tributes, cards and messages of condolences, those who brought food and drinks - it didn't go unnoticed and was very much appreciated. To all those who made donations toward getting a defibrillator, we are truly grateful and hope to be able to contribute to one in John’s memory.
Finally, a big thank you to everyone who helped us out in anyway, your kindness and support will never be forgotten. It would be impossible to thank everyone individually we hope this acknowledgment will be accepted as a token of our sincere appreciation and a Mass will be offered up for all your intentions.
John’s Month Mind will be in St Marys of the Angels, Church Street, Dublin 7 on Sunday evening (3rd March) at 7.00 pm. All welcome.
