Remembering John Ormond, late of ''Iona'', Redemption Road, Cork.
As we lovingly remember Dad on his first anniversary, Yvonne, Susan and Pat together with their families and John’s sister Rose, would like to express our gratitude to everyone who sympathised with us and offered their support on our sad loss.
We appreciate that many of you could not pay your respects and say farewell to John in the traditional way due to PublicHealth restrictions.
We thank you most sincerely for the support given through calls, cards, texts, letters, condolences on RIP.ie, flowers, masses and prayers.
Thank you to our friend Fr Christy Fitzgerald for his support at a very difficult time and for celebrating John’s requiem mass; Sr. Angela who led the prayers for the family Rosary; Bishop Fintan Gavin, Fr John and Fr Damien of the North Cathedral and Fr Declan Mansfield for their support and to O’Connor’s, North Gate Bridge and Ger Rice in St Finbarr’s cemetery for their professionalism.
Our grateful thanks to Joe Higgins, Niamh Cremin, Jerry O’Driscoll and Danny Nolan for the beautiful music at the mass and graveside. Special mention to our friends in the Cathedral Choir and Airport Singers for their friendship over many years. Their guard of honour was a silent and heartfelt tribute to John.
We are grateful to the many doctors, nurses, staff at Walsh’s Pharmacy and home-help Bridie, who showed great care and compassion to our father during his short illness.
To John’s relatives, friends and neighbours, we extend our heartfelt thanks for the love and respect you showed to our father, and for the fun-times you shared with him.
We also ask you to remember our mam, Dymphna whose 2nd anniversary occurred on August 29th.
May they both rest in peace.
Two hearts re-unite beyond grief and pain, the universe smiles, they’re together again.
As an acknowledgement of all your kindness, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions.
