 John O'Rourke

Glenamaddy, Galway / Kilmacthomas, Waterford

We, the family of the late John O’Rourke, would like to express our heartfelt thank you to all who sympathised and supported us on the loss of our beloved, John.

Thank you to all those who sympathised with us, sent mass cards, messages of condolence and those who attended John’s removal, funeral mass and burial. Thank you to our many good neighbours and friends who lined the road for John’s departure from his home to his funeral mass.

We are thankful to John’s family who travelled long distances, and to each and every person who walked with us on this journey.

Thank you to Dr Cunningham in Glenamaddy and the staff in NUIG Hospital for Dad’s medical care. Also, to the staff in St Francis’s Nursing Home, Kilkerrin for their care of John, we are truly grateful.

Thank you to Shane and Orla Mannion, Mannion’s Funeral Undertakers, Glenamaddy for their professionalism, kindness and guidance shown to our family. Thank you to Fr. Anthaiah Pudota and Fr Paddy Mooney for a beautiful ceremony to celebrate John’s life.

We would also like thank the gravediggers for preparing Dad’s final resting place, to the sacristan Bridie, Helen for helping with the communion, PJ Davis for the beautiful music, and to Mary Pettit for the use of the Community Centre.

A very special thank you to Padraig for your assistance with the funeral arrangements.

Thank you to Padraig, Michelle and Raftery’s Oakland Hotel, Glenamaddy for the warm hospitality and lovely food.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our deepest appreciation for your kindness and support during this sad time in our lives. The holy sacrifice of Mass will be offered for your intentions.

John’s Month’s Mind Mass will be held on Sunday 2nd November 2025 at 10.30am in St Patrick’s Church, Glenamaddy.
