Kathleen (Kate) Mulrooney

February 14th,1934 ~ November 24th,2022

As we approach our first Christmas without Kate, the loss which we have suffered becomes even more poignant. She will be sadly missed but we count ourselves very lucky to have so many happy memories of her warm, witty presence in all our lives.

We as a family will be forever thankful to all our neighbours and friends who surrounded us with love and care over the difficult days of the wake and funeral and have continued to do so ever since. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

We offer our heartfelt thanks to the many people who visited our home, attended the wake, mass and burial and who provided emotional and practical support to us at this challenging time. For all those who telephoned, travelled long distances, donated to charities in Kate’s name, sent cards and messages of condolence, we are truly grateful.

It was with the help of Kate’s wonderful carers - Bernie, Monica, Breda, Michelle, Aleevy and Rani - Dr. Joe Loftus Castlebar and the staff in O’Donnell’s Pharmacy Castlebar that we succeeded in keeping Kate in her home until the very end, something that we will always be thankful for.

 A special thank you to Kevin and Cathy O’ Toole, our funeral directors, who were with us every step of the way and treating Kate with such great respect and to the gravediggers who lined Kate’s grave with palm

Fr. John, our thoughtful, considerate, compassionate Parish Priest and Fr. Des our forever friend, along with the O’Malleys, Áine, Ciara and John  ensured that the mass was very special. This was after spending many tiring hours in our home over the previous days. Míle Buiochas.

We have been overwhelmed by the kindness and support we have received and may not be able to thank everyone personally. Please take this as an acknowledgement of your thoughtfulness. The Holy sacrifice of the mass will be offered for your intentions.

Kathleen’s month’s mind mass will take place at

10 am in St. Mary’s Church Partry, on January the 1st 2023
