Died 18th January 2021.
Acknowledgement and First Anniversary.
As we lovingly remember Kitty on her first anniversary, Catherine, Mary, Nora, Tim, Peggy, Breeda, Frances and the extended Heelan family wish to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who supported us on our sad loss.
Due to Covid health restrictions we were unable to meet our family, friends and neighbours but we were incredibly moved by the huge volume of letters, mass and sympathy cards, floral tributes, perpetual enrolments, telephone calls, text messages, emails, Donoughmore Facebook page and the beautiful online tributes expressed about Kitty. They brought great comfort to us and were a testament to how much she was loved.
To our dear friends and neighbours who provided food, refreshments and called to our homes and to the management and staff of Keane’s Jewellers and all our work colleagues, thank you for your continuous support, it is greatly appreciated.
To all the home care team for your help, support and friendship shown to Mother, which enhanced her life in so many ways over the years.
We were touched by all who lined the funeral cortege route for Kitty on her final journey to St Lachteen’s Cemetery; it was a beautiful tribute to a very special woman in unusual circumstances. Also to our neighbours who managed the traffic.
It has not been possible to celebrate Kitty’s long and happy life in the way in which we would have liked and which she so richly deserved. Thank you to Michael Heaney for livestreaming Mother’s funeral Mass so it was possible for those who could not travel to be with us physically, to be with us in the only way they could at this time. Kitty’s positivity is a legacy and we are honoured to live onwards and upwards in her name.
Thank you to Dr. Sarah Kingston and all the staff at Coachford Medical Centre who looked after Mother throughout her years.
A special personal tribute to all the staff in the CUH for their love, care and kindness given to Kitty in her final days
A special thank you to Fr. O Loingsigh for making her funeral mass so special and memorable. To our own Fr. O’Riordan and Fr Winter, Banteer who assisted at the graveyard. To the musicians, sacristan and gravediggers, thank you.
The funeral arrangements were handled with great sensitivity and professionalism during these unprecedented times by Michael, Patricia, Ann and the staff at Crowley’s Funeral Directors.
As it is not possible to thank everyone individually, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for you, as a token of our appreciation.
We also remember her husband David, who died on the 26th July 1993.
