First Anniversary

We, the family of Kathleen Seale (née Collier) Clonenagh, Mountrath, Co. Laois, who died tragically in a farm accident on Monday, 31st January 2022, would like to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all those who sympathised with us in the days and months following our bereavement.

Kathleen’s husband Gerry, and their four children Adrian, Colm, David and Kathy are sincerely grateful and appreciative for all the help and support offered by relatives, neighbours, friends and work colleagues in the immediate aftermath of her death. We keep in our thoughts the local Gardaí and ambulance crew who attended the scene and would like to thank them for their professionalism, compassion, respect and kindness shown to our mother.

A special thanks to everyone who called to the house to attend the reposal and especially those who travelled long distances from across the country to pay their final respects and share heart-warming stories with us of our mother. We were deeply touched by all condolences, phone calls, messages, sympathy cards, mass cards, and flowers. Thank you to all those who provided food at the time and to the local parish and community for your support during that difficult time. We would also like to thank our neighbours and members of the farming community who assisted us on the farm in every way possible.

Thanks to Fr. Joe Brophy P.P. for his support and to Fr. P.J. Fitzgerald, Fr. Paddy Byrne (Abbeyleix P.P.) and Fr. Michael Wall (Mary Immaculate College, Limerick), who celebrated Kathleen’s funeral mass in St. Fintan’s Church, Mountrath and for the Rite of Burial. Sincere thank you to Kathleen’s work colleagues of ESB Networks Training Centre, Portlaoise and to members of Macra na Feirme for their Guard of Honour outside the church before and after the funeral mass, as well as to members of the society of St. Vincent de Paul who followed respectfully behind the funeral cortege through the town of Mountrath to the church for requiem mass. Thank you to the readers, eucharistic ministers, musicians, grave diggers, florist and those who helped with traffic management as well as An Gardaí Síochána. Thank you to Seamus Burke funeral directors, Mountrath for their sensitive and utmost professionalism in handling arrangements. Thank you to those who made kind and generous donations to the society of St. Vincent de Paul, as this was greatly appreciated.

The Seale and Collier families at this time would like to acknowledge everyone who helped in any way, your contribution made our loss more bearable. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude.

Our family would again like you to remember and pray for all those who have been injured or who have died tragically in farm accidents across Ireland.

First Anniversary Mass will be held for Kathleen on 29th January 2023 in St. Fintan’s Church, Mountrath at 11:30 am. All are welcome.
