The family of Kedagh - parents John and Glenda, sister Sadhbh, grandparents Esther and John, Kedagh's aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for all the support and help received following the sudden and devastating loss of our beautiful Kedagh on the 10th Of November 2024.
Glenda, John & Sadhbh wish to express their sincere gratitude for the outpouring of kindness, love & support they continue to receive from family, dear friends, neighbours & the community far and wide and from abroad.
The many kind, thoughtful gestures received will never be forgotten, your kind words, sitting with the family in silence and in the pain of grief, in prayer, listening, shared memories of Kedagh through chat, photos and videos, phone calls, messages, cards, letters , food and dinners, flowers, gifts, lighting of candles, shared walks, all have cushioned our pain and continue to console .
This is the goodness of community and what has and is carrying the family through the darkest and most difficult time of their lives.
The greatness of any community is measured by its compassionate actions .John, Glenda & Sadhbh have received these in huge abundance & they will always be eternally grateful to you all & your enduring support & love will always be remembered.
To our dear neighbours and friends, thank you for your presence and honour shown to Kedagh and the family as Kedagh made his final journey from home.Your presence on the road side along the way did offer comfort and support.
To the staff of local businesses and shops in Prosperous, sincere thanks to you all and all your staff in your honouring of Kedagh and his family as you formed Guards of Honour on the journey to the church.
Words cannot express how deeply Kedagh's family appreciate the immeasurable support from Mr. Kevin Martin, Mr. Mark Kavanagh, Ms. Tara Dunne and all staff, students and the community of Scoil Mhuire, Clane, in their honoring and remembrance of Kedagh and their unwavering support & care of Sadhbh and the family. We are most grateful to the school community for the guard of honour supporting Kedagh's family on their journey to the church and to Mr. Brian Shanahan and the school choir for their beautiful contribution through music and song.
Our heartfelt thanks to Ben Cully for all his wonderful support and kindness with his beautiful music and hymns for Kedagh's funeral mass and Month's Mind mass, Thank you Ben for the immeasurable effort you make and the unforgettable addition your music brings.
To all Kedagh's coaches and team mates and everyone in Clane United Football Club, thank you for your presence and guard of honour and ongoing kindness and support. The family thank most sincerely Clane United and the FAI for the beautiful tribute made to Kedagh during half time at the Ireland v Bulgaria game in the Aviva stadium on Sunday March 23rd. Thank you for your generosity in organising tickets for the family to attend and to see Kedagh being honoured and remembered for the amazing contribution he made in the game he loved.
To all of Glenda's dear friends, colleagues, students & families in Scoil Dara - we are indebted to you for your ongoing care and kindness to Glenda and to the community of St. Raphael's , a thousand thanks for your care and support of John through out this time.
Our sincere thanks to Fr. John Brickley for his steadfast ongoing support, to Fr. George Augustine, Fr. Brian Kavanagh, Fr. Bernard Reyhart and Fr. Paul O' Boyle for their support and guidance to the family in helping to navigate this painful journey.
The family wish to thank Paul Reilly and all the staff at Reilly's Funeral Directors. Paul and his team gently guided and supported us in every decision needed at this most difficult time. Their compassion, kindness and professionalism will always remain with us.The attention to detail and care shown by Paul and his team in handling all the arrangements is so truly appreciated. At all times respect, understanding and dignified care and attention was shown for Kedagh and the family.This support enabled the family to make the best decisions to truly honour Kedagh in the most meaningful way.
The family wish to sincerely thank the paramedics, An Garda Siochana, members of the emergency services and neighbours who came to Kedagh's assistance and exhausted every effort to care and support. The family thank and are most grateful to An Garda Siochána for assistance and support with Kedagh's funeral cortege.
To all of Kedagh's dear friends - your strength, courage and the way you have honored your dear friend Kedagh is testament to the true love, friendship and connection with you that Kedagh treasured so dearly.
Continue to honor Kedagh by speaking his name, rejoice in the memories, the fun, the laughter, the sports, the music, the dancing & remember in all lives future adventures & challenges carry Kedagh in your hearts and he will be there to help you along the way.
To those who helped in any way, your contribution made our loss more bearable. As it would be impossible to thank everyone ,please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
The First Anniversary mass for Kedagh will be held on Monday the 10th of November in Christ the King Church, Cooleragh at 7pm.All are welcome
Glenda, John & Sadhbh thank you all for standing with them, thank you all for loving & remembering Kedagh, cherish Kedagh's memory & hold the light of his love in your hearts forever.
