The O’Sullivan family would like to express a sincere thank you for all of the support and the many kind expressions of sympathy on the heartbreaking loss of our beloved Kieran – our husband, father, brother, uncle who was taken from us too soon.
We offer our deepest thanks to the many people who attended in such numbers at the rosary, funeral Mass and burial. Those who offered parking facilities, the Gardaí, stewards and all those who helped with traffic management. Thank you to all of our relatives, friends and neighbours who called to the house, phoned, sent lovely letters, mass cards, texts, dropped in food or helped us in any way over the past few weeks. It was greatly appreciated and kept us going through this difficult time.
A heartfelt thanks to Mick Fitzpatrick and Eamon Kelly for all of your support and the dignified manner in which you carried out the funeral, for which Kieran did for so many others. You have both been great friends to us and we would have been truly lost without you.
A special word of thanks to all of the doctors and nurses at St. James’s Hospital Dublin, in particular Dr. O’Kane and team and nurse Katie. To nurses Olive and Phyllis and all of the team at the Laois/Offaly palliative care unit for their wonderful care of Kieran over the past few months. To the night nurse Geraldine from the Irish Cancer Society. Your guidance, kindness and compassion will never be forgotten. We also express our thanks to Clarke’s and Flynn’s chemists for your support and advice over the years, but particularly over the past year you went above and beyond to help us.
We wish to thank Fr. Martin Delaney for celebrating the funeral mass in such a personal heartfelt manner, concelebrated by Fr. Noel Maher, Fr. Jackie Robinson, Fr. Bobby Fletcher and Archdeacon John Murray. To Edmond, Ann-Marie, Maryann and Paul O’Brien for the beautiful music. To Billy Crosbie, Matt Keegan and Wioletta Lustrynowicz for your assistance with the funeral. Many thanks to the gravediggers for preparing Kieran’s final resting place.
In Kieran’s memory, €4,000 was raised for the Irish Cancer Society. Many thanks to all who donated for your generosity. We know that these funds will be invaluable in providing much needed support to other families battling with cancer and to cancer research.
We can’t mention everyone individually but we hope that you will accept this acknowledgement as a token of our appreciation for everything you have done for our family as you are grieving with us.
Kieran’s month’s mind mass will be celebrated on Sunday 21st May at 10.30am in the Church of the Holy Trinity Rathdowney.
