Larry Cullen 21/06/1940-03/11/2019
On his first anniversary, Betty and the family of Larry Cullen would like to acknowledge the many expressions of sympathy and acts of kindness during our bereavement.
Thanks so much to our extended family, neighbours and friends that travelled from far and wide to come to the wake at our home and the funeral, we really appreciated the support. Special thanks to Larry’s friends who came to be with us. Thanks to the Mangan brothers, the staff and Larry’s friends from the Glenside, Churchtown, members from De la Salle Palmerston R.F.C, MU Barnhall R.F.C and all those who attended the funeral, sent flowers, cards and messages to us during this very sad time.
Special thanks to Professor Catherine Wall, who oversaw Larry’s healthcare during the last years of his life. Dr. Wall’s professionalism, many kindnesses, patience, support and friendship were deeply appreciated by Larry and will not be forgotten by any of us. Thanks also, to the renal team. We would like to also thank Dr. David Moore, Dr. Bryan Loo and the cardiac team, all staff in Tallaght University Hospital, Nurses, Porters, Housekeeping, Health Care staff, who were all so good to Larry.
We would like to acknowledge and thank Dr. Ciarán Bent, Lalloo Bhagwan and Staff, Lou and the HSE Nursing Team, Ballinteer. Special thanks too, to Caroline and the Our Lady’s Hospice Home Care Team, including the night nurses from The Irish Cancer Society. This support network enabled Larry to remain at home until the end, his most fervent wish.
As a family we have great appreciation for the support from our colleagues, staff and management of Trocaire, Peamount Healthcare, Leixlip Amenities Group, C.C.S, Roadstone, St.John Of God Services and Exchange House Ireland.
We are extremely grateful to Monsignor Dan O’Connor for his friendship to our family over many years and for a beautiful and moving funeral. Thanks to Holy Cross Parish Church, Dundrum and their Bereavement Team. Thanks to Fanagans Funeral Directors for their professional and caring approach.
As a family, we would like to acknowledge the love, care, companionship and attention that Larry’s brother Hugh gave, so freely, particularly in the last year of Larry’s life. He was a lifeline to Larry and a great support to us all.
To all of you, who did anything to try to ease our sorrow at this time, please accept this acknowledgement as our thanks. Mass will be offered for your intentions.
