Lettermore, Galway

Maureen’s husband Joe, her children Christina, Joe, Sinéad, Éamonn, their partners, her grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces and all the extended family, wish to extend our most sincere thanks for the kindness and support shown to us throughout the recent devastating loss of our beloved Maureen.

We are deeply grateful to family, friends and neighbours who visited, called, sent cards, brought food and helped in any way both in the weeks before and during the funeral.

A heartfelt thank you to all the medical teams involved in Maureen’s care: her GP Dr. Penzes and his team – Róisín and Áine; Dr Roche; the Public Health Nurses Máiréad and Áine; the Galway Hospice nurses Breda, Ann, and Kevin; the staff of St Joseph’s Ward, UCHG, and Dr. Blaskova and Dr. McDermot and their wonderful team's in UCHG.

We are grateful to An tAthair Ó Gríofa for his guidance and for celebrating such a beautiful funeral Mass; An tAthair Audley and An tAthair Loftus for their prayers. Thank you also to the choir – Noreen, John Beag, Bríd, Meadhbh and Áine who sang so beautifully during the service.

Sincere thanks to all who helped with traffic management, at the wake and at the funeral. To Cumann Peile Naomh Anna for providing a guard of honour after the wake. To Máirtín Tom Sheáinín and Máirtín Óg for all their help and support throughout.

Finally, thank you to all who donated so generously to Galway Hospice in Maureen’s memory.

The kindness and support shown to us at this most difficult time will never be forgotten.
