 Margaret (Maggie) Caraher
(née Sullivan)

Ballybay, Monaghan

We, the family of the late Maggie Caraher, would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who supported us throughout our recent bereavement.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the many friends and relatives who visited our home, attended the wake and the Funeral Mass and who provided emotional and practical support for us at this difficult time.
To those who travelled long distances, sent Mass cards, letters and messages of sympathy and online condolences, we are humbled by the outpouring of support we have received.

Thank you to everyone who helped out in our home.  To those who brought food both before and during the wake, we were overwhelmed by your kindness.  A special word of thanks to Gerry & Deirdre Mc Elroy.  Thanks to those who parked cars and provided buses and lighting.  Also thank you to the Ballybay Pearse Brothers for the use of the pitch car park during the wake.

Thank you to Fr Kieran Danfulani for celebrating a very special and moving funeral Mass.  To Fr Stephen Joyce, Fr Jim Moore and Fr Tom Quigley who concelebrated the Mass.  A special word of thanks to Martin Mc Cabe and Michael Mooney for providing the beautiful music.  Thank you to Gabriel Martin for preparing the Church.

A special thank you to all who cared for Maggie during her illness.  To the staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, Cavan/Monaghan Palliative Care team & the staff of the Irish Cancer Society.  Thank you to Dr Lorraine Duffy, Dr Jack Crummie and the staff of Ballybay Health Centre.  To the careers who looked after Maggie with such dignity and love during her final weeks at home.  Thank you Carrick Pharmacy & Care Pharmacy Ballybay. A special word of thanks to Dr Deirdre Smith Moran for her kindness.

Thank you to Liam & Martin Smith, funeral directors, for the professional and dignified manner in which they conducted the funeral arrangements.  To the grave diggers who carefully prepared Maggie’s final resting place.

To Ballybay Pearse Brothers for providing a Guard of Honour and to the local businesses and people who stood in silence and respect for Maggie’s final journey. To the local Garda for controlling the traffic, we are profoundly grateful to you all.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone personally, please accept this acknowledgment as an expression of our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude.

Maggie’s months memory Mass will be celebrated at St Patrick’s Church, Ballybay, on Saturday, 2 March 2024, at 6pm.
