The family of the late Margaret (Maisie) Noonan, who died peacefully at home on the 10th March 2021, would like to convey our sincere thanks to all who sympathised and supported us during and since our loss. May our beautiful mother surrounded by angels rest in eternal peace.

Due to Covid restrictions, many relatives and friends were unable to attend in person, we were aware you were with us in spirit. 

We offer our heartfelt gratitude to the many members of the community, friends, neighbours, relatives, and work colleagues who made contact provided food, emotional and practical support to us at this difficult time.

A sincere thank you for the wonderful write up in the Donegal daily, to those who sent beautiful floral tributes, Mass cards, sympathy cards, letters of sympathy, messages of condolence, phoned the family, maintained physical distance outside the house, church and graveyard and along the route of the funeral cortege, from Killygordon to St Patrick’s Church, we are humbled and overwhelmed by the kindness. Those near and far who watched the funeral Mass online and placed lovely comments. St Patrick’s Crossroads Church Choir and Aurora’s Hobbits for their guard of honour and those who managed the flow of traffic during the funeral.

Mum had wonderful neighbours past and present in every location she resided, thank you for your friendship over the years.

A Heartfelt thank you to all those that enabled us to care for Mum in her home environment over the last number of years. Thank you to Doctor Mitchell and the staff at Millbrae Primary Care Centre, Stranorlar, for your amazing support and house visits to Mum over the years; Francis Bonner and the pharmacy team for expert advice and assistance, the public health nurses Killygordon, Tina Mc Glynn and Kathleen Gallon for professional support, the staff of St Joseph’s Community Hospital for providing respite care pre-COVID, the Occupational therapy team Linda and Charlene for organising equipment and training and Michael for the prompt delivery of appliances, palliative care nurse Deirdre Trearty for ensuring Mum was comfortable and pain-free, Fergus Sweeney in the old age psychiatry team for visits and advice, the DON and night management team LUH, Nurse Vera Mc Ardle and Dr David LUH for their wonderful support.

A special word of thanks to Teresa Crawford in the HSE home care office and all Mum's amazing HSE carers, Edanne and Amanda were Mum's main HSE carers with support from Bernadine, Kay, Kathleen, Jaclyn and Christine. Thank you Elizabeth and Edel for Saturday care.

Our gratitude to Julie Mundy in the Alzheimer’s Society for her support and provided us with Bernie, an amazing carer / friend to Mum and support to all of us, we as a family are eternally grateful.

Thank you to Father Patsy Arkinson for his visits, prayers and for providing spiritual support to Mum throughout the years and both Fr Frankie Lynch and Fr Patsy for the prayers during the wake.

A sincere thank you to those who participated in the Mass, Father Patsy Arkinson and Father Frankie Lynch for the beautiful Requiem Mass, Katie Harper and Marie Quinn sacristan, the readers, those who carried reflective items and brought the bread and wine and read the prayers of the faithful and eulogy. Breege Callaghan Duffy, Orla, Jamie and Kayda Noonan for Vocals and Danny Sweeney musician for the beautiful music and hymns. Father Frankie Lynch, for the beautiful rendition at the graveside of “A Mother’s love’s a blessing”. Warren Thompson Connolly and Colette Callaghan for the live streaming of the funeral Mass.

Our deepest gratitude to the funeral directors, Gerard and Gary Mc Cool and Warren Thompson Connolly, thank you for your sensitivity, professionalism, advice and respectful manner in which you handled all the arrangements and finally, thank you to the gravediggers for preparing Mum’s place of eternal rest.

Anyone who assisted in any way, your contribution made our loss more bearable. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

A heartfelt thank you from Cathy, Orla, Moninne Sean, Maria, Nicholas, Alyson, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
