As we lovingly remember and greatly miss Marion on this her first anniversary, her heartbroken husband Dan, her children Ashling, Alan, Stephen, Sinead, her cherished grandson Jayden; her brothers and extended family would like to acknowledge and express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who sympathised and supported us through this most difficult and challenging year.


Our sincere gratitude to all those who sent Mass cards, text messages, sympathy cards, to those who called in person to our home, to those who travelled long distances to be with us and to all who forwarded thoughtful messages and tributes through the RIP.ie website. Thank you to our great and kind neighbours and friends whose generosity knew no bounds, with contributions of food and gifts to our home - we were overwhelmed by your incredible acts of kindness. Thank you also to the Management and staff of Waterville Golf club for their hospitality and beautiful food on the day of the funeral.


Our sincere thanks to Fr. Finucane for celebrating Marion’s funeral Mass and for his touching and meaningful words of comfort. Thanks also for his many visits to Marion and for his tremendous support especially during her illness. We would also like to thank all those who participated in Marion’s funeral Mass through the medium of live stream. Thank you to Jack and Mary Fitzgerald of Fitzgerald’s Funeral Directors for their understanding and professionalism and for the kindness shown to us. Thank you to Marion O Shea for her beautiful singing during the funeral service and to Mick Teahan for his beautiful rendition of the “Rose of Tralee” at the graveside.


Thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at University Hospital Kerry and Cork University Hospital. Thank you to Dr. Adamik and his nursing staff Brenda and Elaine at Waterville Medical Centre. Thank you to Palliative nurse Grainne for her empathy and kindness. Thank you to Dr. Brian and Cathy Donovan. Thank you also to Marie Teahan for your compassion and support. Thank you to Mervin and the staff at Waterville Pharmacy. Thank you to Marion’s dear friends who so regularly took her to many Medical and Hospital appointments. Sincere thank you to Michelle Dwyer and Angela Kelly who gave so much of their time to attend and care for Marion. Your support and sensitivity helped ensure that our beloved Marion could remain at home to the very end which was her dearly held wish. For this we are forever indebted to you.

We would like to acknowledge with gratitude all those who lined the road to pay their respect to Marion. Thank you to An Garda Siochana and the many stewards who ensured everything ran so smoothly. Thank you to the members of Waterville GAA club, Renard GAA club, Waterville Golf club, Southern Gaels LGFA club and Waterville First responders for organising Guards of Honour, and to all those who walked with Marion from her home to St. Finian’s church and her final resting place. She would have been so proud and privileged to witness the expressions of love and respect shown to her.


Please accept this acknowledgment as a token of our most sincere gratitude and appreciation to each and every one of you. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.


Marion’s First Anniversary Mass will be celebrated in St. Finian’s Church, Waterville, at 12 noon on Saturday, 22nd October 2022.
