The family of the late Martha Kilbane, who passed away peacefully on 24th April 2023, would like to thank everyone who sympathised with us on our sad loss. We offer sincere thanks to our Dermody and Kilbane relations, neighbours and friends who attended the funeral, sent mass cards, flowers and left kind condolences on RIP.ie. We greatly appreciate the messages of support received from near and far.
A very special and heartfelt thanks to the management, staff and chaplain of Aperee Nursing Home in Ballinasloe for their excellent care of Martha over several years and especially in her final weeks. We would like to acknowledge the care given to Martha in Portiuncula Hospital and also thank GPs Dr Jim Moore in Mountbellew, Dr Dolan & staff in the Medical Centre in Ballinasloe for their care and support.
Thanks to Fr Michael Molloy, PP Moore & Clonfad, for his visits to Martha especially during her last days in Aperee and for saying prayers at the removal in Ballinasloe. Thanks also to Fr Karl Burns PP Mountbellew, Moylough & Killascobe Parish for the lovely liturgy at the Funeral Mass. We would like to thank the brothers of the Franciscan community in the Monastery, Mountbellew, especially Br Alphonsus; Seán Cunningham; Joe Clarke and the Parish Choir; Sr Assumpta & Sr Margaret of the Holy Rosary Convent; and Sr Clare and community, Presentation Convent, Athenry.
Very special thanks to Martha’s nearest neighbours in Castlegar, with particular thanks to the Cunniffe family, for preparing Martha’s final resting place. We very much appreciate this. Our heartfelt thanks to the Cawley family: Martha was blessed with their friendship, support and assistance throughout the years. We wish to acknowledge the professionalism and great kindness of Niall Aylward, Grenhams Funeral Directors, Ballinasloe. We are also grateful for the hospitality of the Malt House, Mountbellew.
