As we come to terms with the huge and sudden loss of  Martin on the 13th September 2023, his wife Mena, along with his children Elaine, Colin, Kenneth, Sharon, Jason and Darren, his brothers and sisters Jim, Mick, Jo and Breda and the extended Finn family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all friends, neighbours and well-wishers who offered their sympathies, emotional and practical support to us over the last number of weeks. For those who visited our home, attended the wake and funeral, who telephoned, sent letters, cards and messages of condolence, as well as those who made charitable donations and those who travelled from far and near, we are truly grateful.

A very special thank you to The O’Connor family, the ambulance and gardai personnel, to all of Martin’s colleagues and friends in the Marts throughout the county, Fr. Tom Orr, C.C and Fr Sean Devereux P.P., to the musician Mr. Stephen Murphy, car park attendants, helpers in the hall and all that helped in anyway. Thank you to Joanne Cooney and staff for their care and professionalism.

We owe a debt of gratitude to all our great friends and neighbours who supported and helped us in every way possible. Their outstanding kindness and generosity will always be remembered and appreciated. We received goodness and kindness from so many, it’s impossible to name everyone, but we as a family will be eternally grateful for your support and friendships.  

As we cannot thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our gratitude and appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

Martin’s months mind mass will be celebrated on Saturday, 7th October 2023 at 7pm in St. Brigids’s Church, Terrerath.
