The family of the late Martina Dyas (nee Mc Donnell), Cedarfield, Drogheda, who passed away peacefully on the 21/4/22 would like to acknowledge the many expressions of sympathy and gestures of kindness shown to us following our sad loss. We greatly appreciate the many phone calls, messages, Mass cards, flowers, donations to NECRET and the condolences on RIP.ie, we are truly grateful.

A special word of thanks to Dr Adrian Murphy, Nurses Niamh and Martina and to all the staff in The Dochas Centre and the Oncology day ward in OLOLH, thank you all for being so genuinely kind, compassionate and empathic in your care towards Martina during her illness. Many thanks also to the Palliative care team, Dr’s Elaine, Coman, Laura and Martin (aka Declan), to all management and staff of Newgrange level 2 OLOLH a special word of thanks to Angeline, Tracey, Maria, Mary and Edel, thank you for the wonderful care and kindness you showed to Martina and our family. Thank you to the Chaplaincy team, Fr Cleo and Sr Derbhla for providing spiritual and emotional support to Martina. Thank you to the Pharmacist’s and OTC staff of Boyne Grove Pharmacy.

Thank you to Mary Cluskey and to all the staff of the Thatch Bar and to Michael Devine Catering Service. Thank you to Mr and Mrs John and Lil Skelly for the kindness and support you have shown both to Martina and Kevin. Thank you to Karl and Adam’s partners Ciara and Lorna and their large circle of friends who have supported them during these difficult times. Thank you to Martina and Kevin’s neighbours in Cedarfield. Thank you to Martina’s large circle of friends that supported her during her illness. To the person who was so kind, thoughtful and selfless, you provided Martina and Kevin with a once in a lifetime opportunity and she wanted you to know it was one of the highlights of her life, thank you.

To you Orla, it’s very hard to express in our own words the gratitude we as a family have for you, so we will use some of her words; to offer your home to me to enjoy with my family, you will never understand the therapeutic benefit being in nature and by the sea had for me, it was a place of peace, place of serenity and tranquillity, a place of safety and a safe space to process my thoughts in the most difficult of times, she and we will be forever thankful to you, thank you, thank you, thank you x.

Thank you to Fr John Conlon for such a lovely mass it was such a personal and fitting tribute to Martina. Thank you to the Readers, Eucharistic Ministers, Mr Adam Smyth and everyone who participated in Martina’s funeral mass and attended her burial. Thank you Fr John for the spiritual and emotional support you provided to us as a family in the days before her funeral and burial. Thank you to P. Townley and Sons, Funeral Directors for you professionalism, kindness and empathy, a special word of thanks to Jane and Jimmy for assisting us. Thank you to Southgate Florists for the beautiful flower arrangements.

As it is impossible to thank everybody individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our heartfelt appreciation. The Holy sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions. Martina’s months mind mass will be held on Saturday the 21st of May 2022 at 10am in St Mary's Church.
