Mary O'Brien

 Mary O'Brien
(née McCarthy)

Ballyorgan, Limerick / Kildorrery, Cork

Died 14 August 2025

The husband and family of the late Mary O’Brien wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to all who supported and sympathised with us during our recent bereavement. We are especially thankful to our extended family, friends and neighbours who visited us in Keale, attended the removal, funeral and burial and to those who travelled long distances to be with us. We deeply appreciate the many messages, mass cards and the thoughtful gestures of those who brought food. A special thank you to the manager and staff of the Fir Grove Hotel for the meal provided for us after the funeral.

Our sincere thanks to McCarthys funeral directors and the gravediggers for arranging everything with such care. To Father Richie Davern, Canon Michael O’Shea, Father Tony Bluett and Father Chris O’Donnell for making the funeral mass so meaningful. To Eamonn McCarthy & Eileen Hannon who sang such lovely songs during the funeral mass. To the parish clerk, Frances O’Donnell, for making the church look so beautiful. To Martina Hennessy for providing such beautiful floral arrangements. We are extremely grateful to the Videographer; Andrew O’Gorman, for recording the mass. which allowed our elderly relatives and friends, who couldn’t be there in person to feel connected and comforted from afar.

We would like to express our genuine appreciation to the staff at Abbeylands Nursing home for the exceptional care they provided for Mary over the seven and a half years she resided there. We also want to extend our gratitude to the staff at A&E of Cork University Hospital for their care and assistance when Mary needed it most.

Mary’s months mind mass was celebrated on Saturday, 13 September 2025 in Our Lady of Ransom Church, Glenroe. Thanks to all who attended and to Bishop John Fleming for celebrating the mass.
