Mary’s family wish to extend sincerest thanks to each and every person who offered sympathy and support at the time of her sad passing and in the weeks since.

We offer our heartfelt thanks to those who visited the family home, attended the funeral service or watched via live stream, and to those who sent cards, floral tributes, phoned, wrote messages of condolences, as well as those who made charitable donations. We were also warmed and strengthened by the respect shown by those who lined the roads as Mary made the final journey from her home. To the kind neighbours, relatives and friends who helped in the house and brought food we are truly grateful.

Thank you to the consultants, doctors, nurses and staff of Letterkenny University Hospital, particularly those in the oncology unit, ICU, HDU, Surgical 2, and Medical 4.

To the wonderful nurses and staff of Donegal Hospice we extend a special word of thanks for your kindness, respect, and exceptional care given to Mary in her final weeks. Your compassion and support was a huge comfort and will never be forgotten.

We also acknowledge with gratitude our extended family, neighbours, Mary’s friends, and former work colleagues, who gave so much care, time and support during Mary’s illness.

A sincere thanks to Fr. Gillespie for his celebration of Mary's funeral Mass and graveside prayers. To Deirdre, Dearbhla, Mary Louise, Shelly, and Vincent, we are especially grateful for the music you played so beautifully. It was really special and Mum would be proud, as we all were.

The family would also like to pay tribute to Paschal Blake funeral directors, for their sensitive and professional handling of arrangements; and to Enda and the attentive staff in Arena 7 for being so accommodating and serving an excellent meal after a difficult day.

To those who helped in any way, your contribution made our loss more bearable. Please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude.

The Month’s Mind Mass for Mary will be held on Friday 4th March at 7pm in St. Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny. All Welcome.­
