The family of Michael Cullen, who sadly departed on Aug. 4, would like to express our deep gratitude for the support and kindness shown to us at the time of Michael's passing.
Thank you to everyone who offered condolences, sent Mass cards, called at Michael's home, sent texts, floral tributes and made donations.
Thank you to all who attended his removal, Funeral Mass and burial and to those who travelled long distances to be with us at this sad time.
We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to all the family members, friends and neighbors who were there for us, without hesitation.
Thank you for sharing your fond memories and uplifting stories. Michael was blessed with great friends and family in his life. Your love and support will be forever cherished.
A special thank you to Edward and Eileen Harvey and Teresa and Charlie Shiels for your unwavering support throughout.
Special thanks also to the staff of St. Eunan's Nursing Home and Letterkenny University Hospital for their excellent care and the compassion and respect they gave to Michael and his family at the time of his passing.
Sincere thanks to St. Eunan's College, all the staff who worked with Michael and all the past pupils who fondly remembered him; to everyone at Letterkenny Athletic Club who paid tribute to Michael and who remembered his weekly column, and to the members of Letterkenny Golf Club who formed a guard of honor and who remembered him with such kindness.
Our deepest gratitude to Canon Dinny McGettigan, who visited Michael regularly and who celebrated his life at the funeral mass, concelebrants Fr Anthony Hartnett, Fr Kieran McAteer and Archdeacon William McMenamin; singer Caitriona Murray, and funeral director Jim McGlynn, without whose professionalism and support we couldn't have made it through; to the gravediggers for preparing Michael's final resting place with such care, and to Enda and Claire Nicholls and all the staff at Arena 7 who catered for everyone after the burial and who always had a warm welcome for Michael when he visited every Sunday.
Michael will be remembered at 7pm Mass in St. Eunan's Cathedral, Letterkenny, on Friday Sept. 5.
"Like as the waves make towards the pebbled shore,
So do our minutes hasten to their end;
Each changing place with that which goes before,
In sequent toil all forwards do contend."
