Michael’s partner Eileen, his brothers Stephen & Kevin, sisters Maureen & Sheila & the extended Luckie, Byrne & Nolan families wish to express their sincere & heartfelt thanks for the many comforting condolences they received at the time of Michael’s sad passing & throughout the weeks since.
Thanks to those who called to Eileen’s home to bid Michael farewell, those who attended his removal, funeral Mass & burial, sent Mass cards, floral tributes & those who phoned, text, wrote or shared happy memories of Michael online.
To our wonderful family, neighbours & friends, we thank you for all your help throughout, for your hospitality, generosity & continued companionship but a special thank you to Eileen’s dear friend Rita who never faltered in her friendship & constant support throughout Michael’s illness.
Thank you to the team at Arklow Health Centre who assisted Michael in the early days of his illness & to carers Sophie & Chloe. Special thanks to Dr Foster & all at Harbour Road Surgery, to the doctors, nurses & staff of St. Vincent’s Hospital & to the palliative care team for their great care throughout Michaels’ final weeks. To the wonderful management & staff of Ailsing House Nursing Home where Michael spent his last few weeks, we thank you, not just for your wonderful care of Michael but for your kindness & compassion to Eileen in allowing her to spend so much precious time with Michael & to be with him as he passed. This brought such comfort to them both.
Warmest thanks to Fr Brian McKittrick for his prayers, guidance & beautiful funeral Mass & to John & Denis Nolan for their fabulous music in the church & at Michael’s graveside. To all those who took part in the liturgy of Michael’s funeral Mass, in reading & presenting symbols of his life, & to those who assisted in carrying his coffin, we thank you. Michael would have been so proud of you all.
Thanks also to Jason Porter for tending to the grave & to all at John Sweeney & Sons Funeral Directors for their kind & professional service.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust that tis acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our sincere appreciation.
Michael’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Sunday 3rd October at 11.30am in St.’s Mary & Patrick’s Church, Avoca & those who cannot attend are welcome to join via the church webcam
