On this the 1st anniversary of Micheál's sudden and sad passing, his loving mother Breege, brothers Denis, Kieran and Gerard and sisters Ann Marie and Angela wish to express heartfelt gratitude to all who sympathised with us on our bereavement.
Our sincere thanks to all who sent Mass cards, messages of sympathy, letters, telephoned and expressed condolences online. We would like to thank our wonderful friends, neighbours, community, work colleagues and relatives for your support and to those who joined us online for Micheál's Funeral Mass.
A special word of thanks to Fr. Leo Henry for celebrating a beautifully fitting Funeral Mass and graveside prayers together with his comforting home visits and guidance on preparing readings. To Maureen O'Dowd and John Dwyer, for their wonderful and meaningful music and song, we thank you sincerely. To Brendan Nugent, for creating such a wonderful, professional recording and for streaming the service live.
To all those who stood along the roadside, performed the guard of honour, his former work colleagues, friends and all who attended the funeral, we express our deepest gratitiude.
To the grave digger, Gearóid Brennan, thank you for the particular care that you gave in preparing Micheál's final resting place. To Michael, Nancy and Amanda Coen, Coen's Funeral Directors, please accept our sincere thanks and gratitude for your compassion, guidance, attention and professionalism extended to us, ensuring that Micheál had the best send off he could while Covid restictions existed.
To Raymond Gallagher, for your thoughtful and kind gesture in friendship, giving Micheál a motorbike escort on his final journey which brought us a smile as it would to Micheál also, we are deeply grateful. A special word of thanks to Dr. Seamus O'Baoghill and team for your dedicated and meticulous care to Micheál's medical needs over the years, to whom we are forever indebted.
As it is not possible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deep appreciation to all who have supported us in any way.
Micheál's 1st Anniversary Mass will take place on Sunday, 8th May, at 11.30am in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Curry, Sligo and will be live streamed on Curry Parish Church Youtube channel.
