Catherine, Sadbh, Loghan, Senan, and the extended Cox Dunne and Stenson family of the late Morgan Cox, wish to express our sincere gratitude for the kindness shown to us during Morgan’s illness, and since his passing.
Morgan’s loss has left a void that can never be filled; however, we are deeply touched by the love and support that we receive. The gift of wonderful friends, relatives, colleagues, neighbours, coaches, teachers, medical staff, and caring professionals, providing emotional and practical support helps us carry the burden of our loss.
Every candle lit, prayer said, phone call, text, visit and kind gesture, no matter how small, meant something. All of it contributed to making so many beautiful memories in the face of heartbreak throughout Morgan's illness. Memories of great conversations, storytelling, music, laughter, and togetherness. Those memories sustain us in our darkest days, and we thank you for that.
We thank those who cared for Morgan; the doctors, nurses, and care staff of the Beacon Hospital, especially those who cared for Morgan in his final days. A special thank you to Dr. Liam Dalton and his staff for their extraordinary attention to Morgan’s needs. We will be forever grateful. A sincere thank you to Elaine McGirr and the team at LARCC. Thank you to the CIT and Gillian Ryan and her team at Keane’s HealthPoint pharmacy, Mullingar.
We express our gratitude to Fr. David O'Hanlon, Fr. Micheal Troy, and Fr. Phil Gaffney for visiting Morgan. Thank you Fr. Phil for celebrating an incredibly special Mass. Thank you Ger Lilis and Helen Hassett for the beautiful music and singing. Sincere thanks to everyone involved in the funeral service, to all who attended or watched, travelled long distances, or offered heartfelt words of sympathy in person or through RIP.ie, Facebook, and Mass cards.
Thank you to Morgan’s colleagues from Uisce Éireann for their extraordinary demonstration of loyalty and formation of a blue guard of honour that Morgan would be especially proud of. We are also deeply grateful for the solidarity shown by the young men of the Mullingar Rugby Club U18 team and their deeply moving guard of honour.
A special thank you to Keith Quinn and the staff and students of St. Mary’s CBS, Catherine’s colleagues at Integra LifeSciences, and neighbours Kevin, Caroline and Callum Farrell, Mary Cregg, Brian Murphy, and Kevin and Mary Anne Keenan, who have supported us through this challenging time.
We are indebted to Con and Joan Gilsenan and Tony Quinn for their professionalism at a sorrowful time. Their sensitivity, gentleness, and care will never be forgotten.
We have been so fortunate to receive goodness and kindness from so many it’s impossible to enumerate. Please accept this acknowledgment as a token of our sincere appreciation to you all. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
Morgan's Months Mind Mass will occur on Saturday 13th April at 6pm in Cathedral of Christ the King, Mullingar.
In the spirit of Morgan’s never ending tenacity and bravery
“The cataclysm has happened, we are among the ruins,
we start to build up new little habitats, to have new little hopes.
It is rather hard work: there is now no smooth road into the future: but we go round, or scramble over the obstacles.
We’ve got to live, no matter how many skies have fallen.”
