Paddy Murphy Snr.

 Paddy Murphy Snr.

The Monastery, Ramsgrange, Wexford

In his own independent and determined style Paddy departed this world peacefully at home in his sleep on November 7th, 2023. Despite our initial shock we soon came to appreciate that this is how he would have wished to bow out of this world. Those who knew him, will know that he would consider himself ‘blessed’.

As we approach his first anniversary, we remember Paddy fondly and are grateful for the strong legacy and many happy memories we carry with us every day.

Paddy’s children Martina, Paddy (JNR), Nicky, Lise, Martin, Derry, Verona, Emily, John, Michael and Ellen and the extended Murphy family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all our friends and neighbours who offered their emotional and practical support to us at the time of his passing and over the past year.

To the many associates from the Livestock trade and farming community and contacts from the GAA fraternity who visited our home to attend Paddy’s wake and funeral, to those who telephoned, sent letters, cards, and messages of condolence our entire family are truly grateful.

Thank you to Fr Richard Redmond and Monsignor Don Kenny for their continued kindness and guidance. A special word of thanks to all those who participated in Paddy’s Funeral Mass, in particular, the KBI musicians and singers, who Paddy admired so much, and the Ramsgrange Church choir who made it a very special celebration of his life.

Thanks to those who helped with parking and provided practical support for the wake and funeral and to the members of St James’s GAA club who provided a Guard of Honor.

Thank you to Joanne Cooney, Funeral Director and her team for their professionalism and empathy which meant so much to us at a difficult time.

A special word of thanks to our neighbours and friends whose loyalty and friendship to Paddy over many years meant so much. Your ongoing support to us as a family is much appreciated and will always be remembered.

It is impossible to thank everyone individually and we hope that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our appreciation to you for your kindness and support. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

The First Anniversary Mass for Paddy will be celebrated on Saturday evening, November 2nd at 6.30 pm in St James’s Church, Ramsgrange.
